How does a direct courier run work?

Direct courier Switzerland guide: direct courier process explained

With a direct run, the shipment is collected at the origin address. It then travels to the destination without a planned parcel-depot loop. The route is calculated before booking.

In brief

How does a direct courier run work?: when does it fit?

Direct does not mean that traffic disappears. The real road can have congestion or other delays. The system therefore includes additional reserve.

Allow enough time at origin and destination. A late handover at collection can shift the later timing.

After origin and destination are entered, the system checks the route. Only then are the times shown that fit driving time, reserve and handover.

The shipment should be fully ready before collection. A clear receiving point at the destination helps prevent avoidable waiting during the direct run.

Direct and overnight

Direct and overnight

A direct run uses the real road travel time plus routing reserve and handover time. Pickup and requested delivery must both fit within the same calendar day; otherwise choose an earlier pickup time or Overnight. With Overnight, requested delivery is exclusively on the immediately following calendar day. Only released time windows apply; storage across additional days is not offered. The minimum lead time sets only the first bookable pickup day.
